We want it to be easy for you to come to church. We want you to experience a great time in worship and meet friendly people who will welcome you into the Southgate Sanctuary of Praise (SSP) Family. We know that first-time visits to any church can raise many questions and concerns. Here's a quick look at some frequently asked questions that will hopefully give you a better idea of what to expect when you visit SSP. Where are you located?
Our address is 15200 Brest Rd, Southgate MI 48195. Visit our “Directions” links for maps.
Where do I park?
We have parking spaces in front and behind the church. If you need assistance, feel free to ask any of the greeters.
Where do I go?
Greeters are located at the front entrance and are available to direct you to a classroom for your children, to the nursery for your little ones, or the Sanctuary for worship.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably. We're more concerned with meeting your needs than focusing on what you wear. While a few people might choose to wear their "Sunday best", most people wear casual clothing. We want you to come as you are!
What do I need to bring?
A Bible will help you follow along in both worship and Bible Study. If you have a Bible, bring it with you. If you don't have a Bible, copies of the Bible are located in the Sanctuary and in Sunday School classrooms for your's or your children to use.
When do I need to arrive?
Sunday school, for all ages including adults, begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. with our praise and worship service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the service/class time to allow adequate time for parking and getting to the Sanctuary/Bible Study class.
Is the church handicap accessible?
Yes. There is reserved handicap parking at the rear parking lot closest to the building.
Where do my children go?
Just inside the main entrance are greeters stationed throughout the morning to register your child and direct them to their classroom. We offer nursery for infants and Sunday School for your children.
What is your style of worship service?
We would consider our service a nice contemporary blend and features the singing of modern praise choruses accompanied by our praise band "The Cost" and the Praise Team. Our desire is for our worship service to be both Biblically sound and culturally relevant. We do feature the use of occasional drama or video to enhance the worship experience in most of our services.
How are visitors recognized?
The last thing we want to do is single you out or put you on the spot. We ask visitors to fill out a Welcome Card located inside our weekly bulletin and give it to one of our greeters so that we can have a record of your visit. We'll never ask you to stand up or call you out in any way. We want you to have a wonderful experience with the Southgate Sanctuary of Praise Church and we strive to create a friendly and comfortable environment to make you feel right at home.
